Nylabone, an industry-leading creator of innovative dog chew
toys, chew treats, and dental solutions since 1955, has teamed up
with the Guide Dog Foundation and America’s VetDogs. Through this
alliance, Nylabone will donate chew toys to dogs training as
service animals for people with disabilities.
The Guide Dog Foundation and America’s VetDogs are sister
organizations dedicated to the well-being of both animals and
people. These not-for-profit groups train and place assistance
dogs, preparing them to provide independence, enhanced mobility,
and companionship to individuals who are blind or have low vision,
and to veterans and first responders with disabilities.
“We at Nylabone understand the depth of physical and emotional
support that dogs can provide, which is why we’re proud to help the
Guide Dog Foundation and America’s VetDogs in their mission to
partner assistance dogs with individuals who have disabilities,”
said Glen S. Axelrod, President and CEO of Nylabone Products.
“Helping to build healthy relationships between dogs and people
guides everything we do.”
Nylabone’s chew toy donations offer dogs comfort during their
rigorous service animal training program. Chewing is a natural
activity for canines that helps ease stress and anxiety, and these
chew toys are helping future service animals provide the same
relief for their human companions.
“We are extremely thankful for the support Nylabone continually
gives to both the Guide Dog Foundation and America’s VetDogs,” said
John Miller, President & CEO, Guide Dog Foundation &
America’s VetDogs. “The health and mental well-being of our dogs in
all stages of their life is of upmost importance to us. With
Nylabone’s chew toy donations, our future assistance dogs are able
to unwind and relax with a safe and reliable toy after a day of
training.”
Nylabone supports and donates to a variety of dog shelters,
animal welfare groups, and canine service organizations through the
Nylabone Cares program. An aspect of this initiative is giving
shelter dogs the behavioral tools they need to thrive in their
forever homes, encouraging healthy chewing habits, and helping
reduce stress.
