Vinci SA said Wednesday that it has been awarded a public-private partnership contract by German highways agency Deges for a new road in Germany.

The French construction company said the 30-year partnership represents a total investment of about 500 million euros ($589.7 million), including around EUR350 million for the design, financing, construction and maintenance of the 22-kilometer road.

The new route on the B247 highway connects Muehlhausen and Bad Langensalza in Thuringia, eastern Germany.

Construction will last around four years and be carried out by Vinci Construction entities in Germany, while operations and maintenance will be performed by Vinci Highways.

About 15,000 vehicles a day are expected to take the road, including about 15% heavy trucks.
