Contract Wins and Trading Update
Synergy Healthcare plc ("Synergy"), a leading provider of outsourced medical
support services within the UK, is pleased to confirm further details of the PFI
contract announced in November 2003. The Company had been selected as preferred
partner for the provision of decontamination and linen management services to
Barts and the London NHS Trust consisting of St Bartholomew's Hospital in the
City of London and the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel. This contract will
contribute over #4.5 million to revenues per annum, starting in 2005 for up to
38 years.
Synergy has been selected as preferred partner for a second PFI project. Since
the details are still under negotiation, further details will be announced later
in the year.
Trading during the start of the second half of the financial year has begun well
and the Company is continuing to perform ahead of management's expectations.
The two new PFI contracts together with the national initiative to contract out
decontamination services in England leave the company well placed to continue
its overall growth and performance.
Dr Richard Steeves, Chief Executive, commented:
"We are delighted to have won these significant new contracts, which improve an
already strong forward order book to over #350 million.
"Synergy's reputation for quality services underpins its success and we expect
to continue to make further progress."
