                  Appointment of Broker and Nominated Adviser



The Board of Ambient plc is pleased to announce that it has today appointed
Numis Securities Limited as its Broker and Nominated Adviser.  Numis will also
advise Ambient on the intended flotation of Moneybox in Spring 2004 and the
demerger of Ambient's shareholding in Moneybox.


The Board of Moneybox, the cash machine and payment services company, Ambient's
largest subsidiary, has also appointed Numis Securities Limited as its Broker
and Nominated Adviser.
