International Absorbents Completes Construction of Its East Coast Manufacturing and Warehouse Facility FERNDALE, Wash., Nov. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- International Absorbents Inc. (AMEX:IAX), a leading developer and producer of environmentally-friendly pet care and industrial products, today reported that construction of its new 86,000 square foot manufacturing and warehouse facility in Jesup, Georgia is basically complete and that the facility is now in its commissioning stage. The new Jesup facility gives International Absorbents' manufacturing and warehouse capabilities on the East Coast, closer to major markets. The addition of this facility will almost triple the Company's overall production capacity. Cost savings due to closer proximity to primary markets and efficiencies resulting from updated production technology will make substantial contributions towards paying for the plant's construction. "The Company's growth has been such that we are very much in need of this additional production capacity and we are eagerly anticipating it coming on- line and relieving pressure on our current facility," stated Gordon L. Ellis, Chairman of International Absorbents Inc. "This new facility is state-of-the- art and incorporates upgrades and improvements that we have developed over the past 18 years of operating our plant in Washington State. We look forward to consistently manufacturing highest quality products in a cost effective and efficient manner from this new location. This new plant and warehouse space is a significant component of our plan to build infrastructure for future growth." The new Jesup facility is the second phase of the Company's three-phase expansion plan. The third phase will be replacement of the Company's primary manufacturing line in Bellingham. The first phase was construction of the new 120,000 square foot Washington State facility completed in late 2003. International Absorbents Inc. develops, manufactures and markets patented and proprietary, cost effective consumer and commercial products derived from recycled, renewable materials. These environmentally safe products outperform conventional products used in a broad range of consumer and industrial applications, including retail/commercial pet bedding and litter, oil and hazardous liquid spill cleanup and control, oil/water filtration, and packaging.
