outages at U.S. refineries as reported by Dow Jones Newswires. The
information is compiled from both official and unofficial refining
sources and doesn't purport to be a comprehensive list.
Tesoro Corp. said it will delay maintenance on its West Coast
refineries originally scheduled for the fourth quarter until
2012.
Chevron Corp. will finish maintenance of the FCCU at its
refinery in El Segundo, Cali., by Nov. 20, sources said.
Marathon Petroleum said Nov. 1 it restarted the crude
distillation unit at its refinery in Catlettsburg, Ky., following a
week of planned maintenance.
Valero Energy Corp. on Nov. 1 announced its first quarter 2012
turnaround schedule for its refineries in Houston, Texas; Norco,
La.; Wilmington, Cali.; and Memphis, Tenn. The dates and units
effected can be found in the chart below.
BP PLC took down one of the three crude units at its refinery in
Whiting, Ind., for maintenance during the weekend of Oct. 30, said
a source familiar with the refinery. A restart date was
unknown.
Total SA will extend a maintenance turnarond currently underway
at its Port Arthur refinery to around Nov. 9, a source said Oct.
26. The work on the refinery's crude unit and FCCU was originally
scheduled to finish by Nov 5.
ConocoPhillips on Oct. 24 had an unspecified unit go out at its
refinery in Belle Chasse, La., according to a filing made on Oct.
25.
Valero Energy Corp. on Oct. 21 said previously announced
turnaround maintenance at a crude distillation unit and a coker
unit began at its oil refinery in Corpus Christi, Texas. The
turnaround is expected to conclude in three weeks.
Valero Energy Corp. on Oct. 20 said emissions reported to Texas
State environmental regulators the day before were associated with
the end of some of the turnaround maintenance underway since late
September at its oil refinery in Three Rivers, Texas. Turnaround
continues at parts of the plant; restart seen in early Nov.
Suncor Energy Inc.'s (SU) oil refinery in Edmonton, Alberta,
will be operating at reduced rates over the next two weeks due to a
disruption in hydrogen supplies, a company spokeswoman said on Oct.
11. The disruption in hydrogen supplies occurred at a third-party
supplier which told Suncor it would be unable to supply hydrogen
over the next two weeks.
