DOW JONES NEWSWIRES

The following table lists unplanned and planned production outages at U.S. refineries as reported by Dow Jones Newswires. The information is compiled from both official and unofficial refining sources and doesn't purport to be a comprehensive list.

Husky Energy (HSE.T, HUSKF) will perform turnaround maintenance on isocracking units at its Toledo and Lima, Ohio, oil refineries in the third quarter. General maintenance will go on simultaniously at the Toledo refinery.

Valero Energy (VLO) on July 26 announced third-quarter turnaround maintenance plans for a crude-and-coker unit in the east plant at its Corpus Christi, Texas, refinery for three weeks starting in October. Six weeks of planned maintenance will begin in October at a crude unit and FCCU at its Three Rivers, Texas, refinery.

Alon USA Energy Inc. (ALJ) recently began turnaround maintenance at a key gasoline-making unit at its oil refinery in Big Spring, Texas, a report to Texas state environmental regulators made public on July 25 said. The date of the unit's return to normal service wasn't provided.

Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM) on July 25 confirmed an equipment malfunction and the emissions associated with the event at its Joliet refinery in Channahon, Ill., but would not provide further details.

Valero Energy on July 25 said a coker unit at its refinery in Texas City, Texas, continues to operate following a power "blip" at an associated compressor. The event had no material impact on production.

Separately, the restart of the third crude-distillation unit at Texas City, Texas, shut around July 18 to repair a leak, is expected "some time this week," Valero spokesman Bill Day said on July 25. The two other crude distillation units at the Texas City plant remained in operation.

ConocoPhillips (COP) on July 23 reported flaring at its oil refinery in Rodeo, Calif., when a drop in power caused some process units to shut down, the company said in a report to California state environmental regulators. No other details were provided.

A residual hydrotreating train was depressurized on July 18 at BP PLC's (BP, BP.LN) oil refinery in Texas City, Texas, to facilitate repairs to fix a leak at the unit's heat exchanger, a filing to Texas state environmental regulators made public on Tuesday said. A source familiar with operations at the plant said operations at the residual hydrotreating unit, or RHU, were reduced, but that two out of three trains continue to operate normally. It is not clear when the RHU will resume normal operations.

A flaring event was planned take place between July 18 and July 27 at ConocoPhillips's 140,000 barrel-a-day refinery in Wilmington, Calif., according to the South Coast Air Quality Management District. It wasn't known which unit, or units, would be affected.

A flaring emissions event was reported by the Texas Commission On Environmental Quality due to an upset with two fluid catalytic cracking units at Exxon Mobil's massive 562,000 barrel-a-day refinery in Baytown, Texas. The flaring caused feedstock to the units to be minimized.
