Tesoro Corp. (TSO) plans to begin restarting at its Anacortes, Wash., refinery Monday and expects the plant to be fully operational by Oct. 15, spokesman confirmed Thursday.

The brief fire Saturday at Valero Energy Corp.'s (VLO) refinery in Benicia, Calif., took place at the coking unit's compressor but did not significantly impact operations, a company spokesman said Wednesday.

Murphy Oil Corp. (MUR) experienced a transformer failure at its 120,000-barrel-a-day Meraux, La., refinery Tuesday. It was repaired and operations were normal Wednesday, a company spokeswoman said.

BP PLC's (BP) refinery in Texas City, Texas, began work Monday afternoon on an electrostatic precipitator stack at fluid catalytic cracking unit No. 1, according to a filing with state environmental regulators. Up to three out of 10 cells from the emissions control unit will be removed.

A small, brief fire Thursday shut Isomax Unit No. 2 at Chevron's (CVX) Pascagoula, Mississippi, oil refinery but did not affect operations at any other process units at the plant, company spokesman Steve Renfro said Friday. There was no restart timing available; the incident is under investigation. said.
