Turkey's Annual Inflation Accelerated in July

Turkey's inflation rate accelerated on an annual basis in July,
the country's state statistics agency said Tuesday.
July's consumer price index rose 18.95% on year compared with
17.53% in June, TurkStat said.
The largest on-year price increase was for food and
non-alcoholic beverages at 24.92%, then transportation at 24.62%,
followed by furnishings and household equipment at 22.70%. The
lowest annual increase in prices was of 1.80% in alcoholic
beverages and tobacco.
On month, CPI rose 1.80% in July compared with 1.94% in June,
TurkStat said.
The biggest monthly increase in prices was for housing at 5.07%,
food and non-alcoholic beverages at 2.77% then hotels, cafes and
restaurants at 2.72%. In monthly terms, prices decreased for
clothing and footwear by 2.13% and furnishings and household
equipment by 0.06%.
