Trish Regan Moves to Primetime with New
8PM/ET Program
FOX Business Network (FBN) will debut a new primetime lineup on
October 15th, announced Brian Jones, president of the network. The
new schedule will move FBN’s Trish Regan to the 8 PM/ET timeslot as
the host of a new program entitled Trish Regan Primetime.
In making the announcement, Jones said, “As we mark our 11th
year on the air and continued dominance over rival CNBC during
Business Day, we are excited to extend our live programming through
10PM, ensuring all of our viewers get the most robust and
comprehensive look at how the political economy affects their
everyday lives.”
Regan added, “The intersection of policy and Wall Street has
never been so strong, and I’m excited for the opportunity to create
a new program that solely focuses on the political economy and what
it means to so many Americans. It is an honor to get to continue
working alongside the best lineup in business television.”
Trish Regan Primetime will feature Regan as she expands upon the
leading headlines of the day and their economic impact on the
country. Additionally, each night Regan will be joined by a
rotating lineup of industry experts and business titans to explore
how the policy set forth by Washington affect the markets, economy
and personal finance. Charles Payne’s program Making Money will
move from 6PM/ET to Business Day, replacing Regan’s current
program, The Intelligence Report at 2PM/ET. Liz Claman will
continue anchoring Countdown to the Closing Bell at 3 PM/ET, which
dominates CNBC in the timeslot.
In addition to Regan’s primetime debut, the network will also
premiere a new post-market schedule, featuring the return of one of
FOX’s signature business programs, Bulls & Bears with David
Asman. In taking on the new role, Asman will depart After the Bell
(4PM/ET), with FBN’s Connell McShane joining Melissa Francis as
co-host.
Following Bulls & Bears, FBN’s new post-market coverage will
feature The Evening Edit with Elizabeth MacDonald at a new time of
6PM/ET (previously offered at 5PM/ET). Lou Dobbs Tonight, the
number one news program in all of business television in both total
viewers and the 25-54 demo, will remain at 7PM/ET, while the newly
entitled Kennedy Live will now be live at 9PM/ET.
Jones further commented, “We have an incredible roster of
expertise across both our daytime and primetime lineup and this new
schedule will ensure our viewers get the best, most experienced
analysis across the critical business and post-market hours.
Charles’ keen eye for spotting market moves along with Connell and
David’s seasoned backgrounds, will further enhance our business
coverage, honing in on the critical news that will impact Americans
most.”
Beginning October 15th, the new lineup will feature:
- 2pm: Making Money with Charles
Payne

with Liz Claman

Francis and Connell McShane

Joining FBN in 2015 as an anchor and markets reporter, Regan has
been instrumental in FBN’s sustained Business Day ratings success
over CNBC. Her program, The Intelligence Report with Trish Regan
was the highest rated financial show in its timeslot, and often
ranked in the top 10 most-watched business programs on television,
according to Nielsen Media Research.
Additionally, in November 2015, Regan, alongside FNC’s Sandra
Smith, moderated the network’s inaugural Republican presidential
primary debate, making history as the first dual-female team to
helm a debate. The event delivered 4.7 million total viewers and
nearly 900,000 in the key 25-54 demo, making it one of FBN’s
highest rated programs ever.
Asman originally joined FBN’s sister network FOX News Channel
(FNC) in 1997 and was one of the founding anchors of the business
network when it launched in 2007. Prior to joining FNC, Asman
served as the Wall Street Journal's editorial features editor
beginning in 1995. He joined the newspaper in 1983 as an editorial
writer, where he edited the Manager's Journal and the Americas
column. He is the recipient of the 1986 Inter American Press
Association's (IAPA) Tom Wallace Award for coverage of Latin
America in the Americas column.
FOX Business Network (FBN) is a financial news channel
delivering real-time information across all platforms that impact
both Main Street and Wall Street. Headquartered in New York—the
business capital of the world—FBN launched in October 2007 and is
the leading business network on television, topping CNBC in
Business Day viewers for the past seven consecutive quarters. The
network is available in more than 80 million homes in all markets
across the United States. Owned by 21st Century Fox, the network
has bureaus in Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C. and London.
