ATLANTA, Dec. 2, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Billseye,
Inc, the world's first real-time mobile call billing solution
joined the second cohort of the Google for Startups' Black Founders
Fund, a $10 million initiative
designed to financially support Black startup founders. Billseye,
an Atlanta-based company, will
receive $100,000 in non-dilutive
capital.
"Since the first version of our product runs on Google's Android
operating system, we jumped at the chance to develop a closer
relationship with the company that created the world's largest
mobile platform," says Billseye co-founder Alcide Honoré. "It also
helps that the initiative provides mentorship, training, guidance,
and resources for founders."
Billseye is a mobile application that automates billing for
mobile calls by allowing users to identify billable incoming and
outgoing client calls as soon as the call is answered or dialed.
Billseye includes features like voice/text memos, contact
importing, and call data exporting. As one of the select few
high-potential startups promoted by Google for Startups nationwide,
we are excited to leverage the funding award to spread our message
to potential users and will help Billseye reach wider
audiences.
Last year, Google for Startups granted 76 Black-led startups up
to $100,000 in non-dilutive funding,
helping them to keep their doors open amid the pandemic and grow
their businesses. Beyond dollars, the fund includes technical
support from Google's tools and teams, up to $120,000 in donated search Ads from Google.org,
and nearly $100,000 in Google Cloud
credits. Last year, founders who received awards went on to raise
more than $50M in capital and 80% of
recipients used the funding to create jobs.
"Black founders currently receive less than 1 percent of total
VC funding," says Jewel Burks
Solomon, Head of Google for Startups US. "We heard loud and
clear from the previous fund recipients that Google for Startups
has been crucial to their success not only through funding but
through community, mentorship, network connections, and technical
expertise."
Billseye has also earned a finalist spot from a group of 500
Atlanta-based startups in the ATL Startup Battle. This "Shark Tank
'' style competition takes place on Thursday, October 21. Ten companies will have an
opportunity to compete for $100,000,
offering startups the chance to develop their ideas and launch
their products or services with the guidance of seasoned
mentors.
