Venture Production plc (the "Company")
Director/PDMR Shareholdings


The Company was notified on 22nd July 2005 of the following changes in the
interests of Directors and Persons Discharging Managerial Responsibilities
('PDMRs') in the Ordinary Shares of 0.4p each of the Company (the "Shares").

(i) Notification under DR 3.1.4(R)(1)(b):

As previously disclosed, Mr Michael Wagstaff, Chief Executive, and Mr Jonathan
Murphy, Chief Operating Officer, had the right to purchase Shares from a
director, Mr Laurence Kinch, and from former directors of the Company.  Under
the agreements, part of the option to purchase such shares would have expired in
the forthcoming close period if not exercised.  Consequently the final two
tranches of Shares covered by these agreements have been exercised as follows:

(ii) Notification under DR 3.1.4(R)(1)(a):


Mr Roderick Begbie, Corporate Development Manager, had exercised options over
65,000 shares in the Company, representing 0.05% of the issued share capital of
Venture, which were subsequently sold at a price of 380p per share. Mr Begbie's
shareholding in Venture remains unchanged as a result of the transaction at
14,960 shares, representing 0.01% of the issued share capital of the Company.

Mr Brian Hobden, Company Secretary, had exercised options over 30,000 shares in
the Company, representing 0.02% of the issued share capital of Venture, which
were subsequently sold at a price of 392p per share. Mr Hobden's shareholding in
Venture remains unchanged as a result of the transaction at 139,077 shares,
representing 0.11% of the issued share capital of the Company.
