               Sodra Petroleum AB Announces Management Changes


Sodra Petroleum AB ("Sodra") announces that Ian H. Lundin will become Managing
Director of Sodra effective as of December 31, 2000. Mr. Lundin replaces
Magnus Nordin who is resigning to pursue other interests. Mr. Nordin, however,
will remain on the Board of Directors until the next annual general meeting.
The Board would like to thank Mr. Nordin for his valuable contribution to the
Company.

Mr. Lundin, with over 15 years experience in the oil industry, has served on
the Board of Directors of Sodra since its beginning. In addition, Mr. Lundin
is President and Managing Director of Lundin Oil AB, an international oil and
gas exploration and production company with major projects in 8 countries
worldwide and which owns 50% of Sodra Petroleum AB.

The Company also announces that Mr. Magnus Unger has been appointed Deputy
Managing Director of Sodra. Mr. Unger was also recently appointed Deputy
Managing Director of Lundin Oil AB. Mr. Unger has been on the Board of Lundin
Oil since 1994 and was previously Deputy Managing Director of Atlas Copco
Group, a major manufacturing company, headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden.

Sodra Petroleum is in the process of acquiring 2000 km new seismic data for in
the Tranche F and the open acreages North of the licensed areas. The seismic
program is planned to be finalized by the end of the first Quarter 2001.
