Pre Close Period Statement

Senior plc, an international manufacturer of high technology components and
systems, principally for the aerospace, diesel-engine and energy markets, issues
this trading update for the six month period to 30 June 2007.

Overall trading has been very healthy, particularly for the aerospace markets.
Consequently, the Group's adjusted profit before tax for the first half of 2007
is anticipated to be ahead of the Board's previous expectations.  This is
despite the adverse translation effect of the weaker US $.

Strong markets, operational improvements and the contribution, for the full
period, of the two acquisitions made during 2006 mean operating profits for the
Aerospace Division are expected to be significantly higher for the first six
months of 2007 than in 2006.  Overall aerospace demand is good and future
prospects for the Aerospace Division remain healthy with Boeing, Airbus and the
engine builders continuing to increase build rates.  In addition, orders for the
new Boeing 787, on which the Group has significant content, are at a higher
level than for any previous aircraft at the same stage of development.  The 787
is expected to fly for the first time later this year.  The business jet market
is healthy and the military and regional jet markets remain stable.

In the Flexonics Division, the new heavy duty diesel engine products are all in
production with the volumes delivered ramping up during the first six months of
the year.  The Division's automotive markets have generally remained flat and
competitive and material prices have continued to increase.  On the other hand,
the power generation, chemical processing and oil and gas markets have been very
strong, helping to improve the expected operating profit and margin of the
Division.

Looking ahead, the prospects for Senior remain encouraging.

The results for the first six months of 2007 will be announced on Thursday 2
August 2007.
