The Board of Stanley Gibbons is pleased to announce that the Company's entire
holding of 220,922 shares in Provide Commerce, Inc has now been sold by way of a
secondary offering undertaken by Provide Commerce, Inc. The shareholding was
carried in the Company's last reported balance sheet at a value of #223,000 and
the sale generated net proceeds of US$4,087,264 (#2,208,138) for Stanley
Gibbons..

Plans for the return of surplus cash to shareholders will be announced with the
Company's interim results on 30 July 2004.
