DSS Sale in Zambia Kicks Off Strong Start to New Financial Year

Seeing Machines close major deal with new Zambian mining customer

20 July 2015

Seeing Machines (AIM:SEE), the AIM-listed company with a focus on operator monitoring and intervention sensing technologies and services, is proud to announce a (US) $1.1M DSS hardware sale to a new mining customer in Zambia.

Zambia is recognised as Africa's leading copper producing country, is home to some of the world's highest grade ore and is one of the top five copper producing countries in the world. For these reasons, Seeing Machines has been courting business in Zambia for over two years and is proud to have finalized a commercial agreement with one of the countries top mining companies.

Supported by Seeing Machines, the company's African DSS representative, Probe Integrated Mining Technologies (ITM), will manage the installation, commissioning and support of DSS technology for a fleet of over 100 haul trucks.

Seeing Machines will work with Caterpillar Safety Services and the Cat dealer network in other parts of the world to promote DSS solutions to the mining company's other mine sites.

Ken Kroeger, CEO of Seeing Machines said: "a lot of effort has gone into developing the mining business both globally and in Africa and it's great to see progress - it strongly demonstrates the viability of DSS business in Africa and we look forward to working with both the region's Caterpillar dealer and Caterpillar Safety Services to extend the reach to more customers and to help keep their workers safe."
