Director changes
30 June 2015
Red Rock Resources plc, the mining and exploration company with
interests in gold in Africa and investments in other mineral
assets, announces the following changes in directorate.
Mr Sam Quinn has been appointed a non-executive director of the
Company with immediate effect, and the Company has accepted the
resignation of Mr John Watkins as a non-executive director of the
Company. Mr Scott Kaintz has been appointed an executive director
of the Company.
Sam Delevan Quinn, aged 38, a British and Australian citizen, is
a corporate lawyer with significant experience in the mineral
resources sector. For the past decade, Mr Quinn has served as legal
counsel for and as part of the executive management team of several
listed and non-listed gold, silver, copper, iron-ore and diamond
exploration and development companies with operations in various
jurisdictions. Mr Quinn is also currently the Director of Corporate
Finance and Legal Counsel for the Dragon Group, a London-based
mining venture capital firm. During this time, Mr Quinn has gained
significant experience in the administration, operation, financing
and promotion of mineral resource companies.
Prior to working in the mining sector, Mr Quinn worked as a
corporate lawyer for Jackson McDonald Barristers & Solicitors
in Perth, Western Australia and for Nabarro LLP in London. Mr Quinn
graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1999 with a
Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts and is a qualified lawyer in
Western Australia and in England & Wales.
Mr Kaintz, a director of Regency Mines plc, has been working for
the Company since 2011 as Head of Corporate Finance. Scott
Christopher Kaintz, aged 37, has a BS degree in Russian from
Georgetown University and an MBA degree from Columbia Business
School and London Business School. After serving as an officer in
the United States Air Force, where he led analyst teams researching
geopolitical topics, produced analysis and recommendations, and
conducted briefings, he joined L-3 Communications, a U.S. Defense
firm, as European Chief Information Technology Manager. Before
joining the Company in early 2011 as Head of Corporate Finance he
had worked within the financial sector on customised financing
packages and on sell-side Merger and Acquisitions, finance raising,
and prepared valuation and operating models.
Andrew Bell, Chairman, states: "We owe an enormous debt of
gratitude to John Watkins, who has been a director since before our
listing in 2005. His assistance with accounting and with the
preparation of the annual reports in the early days went far beyond
the call of duty. As he began to reduce his commitments, we knew
that this day would come, and now as we end the financial year he
has decided that the time is right to step down. We have however
found a worthy replacement in Sam Quinn, whose legal skills and
experience of the sector mean that we retain an appropriate balance
of professional expertise among the non-executive members of our
board. His mining sector experience, legal and corporate finance
skills, and London-based investor network will assist the Company
as it moves to the next phase of its development.
The appointment of Scott Kaintz as an Executive Director
recognises his work as Corporate Finance Manager. We welcome these
two new members to the board."
