Plectrum Petroleum Plc ('the Company') received notification on 21 May 2007 from
Gartmore Investment Limited that it has indirect voting rights over 19,746,428
ordinary shares of 5p each in the Company, representing 10.948 per cent. of the
voting capital of the Company.

Within this holding are the following interests:

Vidacos Nominees Ltd as nominee for The Alphagen Volantis Fund Limited in
8,821,428 (approximately 4.891%) voting rights

Bny Gil Clt a/c Noms LTD as nominee for Gartmore Smaller Companies Trust PLC in
5,300,000 (approximately 2.938%) voting rights

Nortrust Nominees Limited as nominees for Strathclyde Pension Fund in 5,625,000
(approximately 3.119%) voting rights.
