( BW)(PALL)(PLL) Pall Corporation Issues Update on Patent Disputes
with HemaSure Inc.
 
    EAST HILLS, N.Y.--(BW HealthWire)--Feb. 10, 1998--Subsequent to
a finding by the United States District Court for the Eastern District
of New York that certain of HemaSure Inc.'s (OTC Bulletin Board: HMSR)
Leukonet (TM) leukocyte filtering devices infringed Pall Corporation's
(NYSE: PLL) U.S. Patent No. 5,451,321, HemaSure has agreed to cease
all manufacture and sale of the four versions of its current Leukonet (TM)
filters as of February 15, 1998 and Pall agreed to withdraw its motion
for a Preliminary Injunction which was scheduled to be heard February
3, 1998.

    Currently, Pall is prosecuting a second lawsuit against HemaSure
alleging infringement of a different Pall patent, Patent No.
4,925,572, which Pall asserts covers the filtration media used by
HemaSure in its prior as well as newly announced versions of its
leukocyte removal filters. The first lawsuit is continuing as well,
with Pall asking for damages for all filters sold by HemaSure, and on
the issues of validity and enforcement. Pall is confident that it will
be successful on all aspects of these actions.
