On 15 December 1998 the Company was informed that the following directors, or
pension schemes in which directors are interested, purchased shares in the
Company at a price of 32 pence per share:

Graham Woodhead                              31,250
Martin Pollins Personal Pension Management   16,250
Woodgate Trust*                             187,500

* Woodgate Trust is a pension scheme in which David Mould, Hannelore Bollmann
and Klaus Bollmann, directors of the Company, are interested.

These shares were purchased from Maltrace plc, a Company in which Martin
Pollins, Klaus Bollmann and Hannelore Bollmann and Graham Woodhead are
interested.
