RMS COMMUNICATIONS PARTNERSHIP WITH GERMAN UTILITY COMPANY
GEW STARTS SUCCESSFULLY

RMS  Communications plc, ("RMS") the leading provider of low cost, power  line
communication  technology, is pleased to report that the first  phase  of  the
trial  programme with Gas-Elektrizitats-und Wasserwerke, ("GEW"),  the  German
utility  company, has been completed successfully.  Results from recent  tests
show  exceptionally  fast and responsive communication  and  high  reliability
rates across the designated section of GEW's electricity network.

RMS has installed its communications technology, PowerNetr  ("PowerNet"), onto
GEW's  low voltage (220/380 volts) and medium voltage (10,000 volts)  networks
in  Cologne.  PowerNet has been successfully tested for monitoring the  supply
of electricity, which included communication with electricity meters.

RMS  is  also running tests with other national utility companies  in  Sweden,
Jersey,  New Zealand, Scotland and other parts of the UK.  This year  saw  the
first commercial installation in Hydro-Electric's region around Perth and Fort
William. Hydro-Electric is a 26% shareholder in RMS.
