              RESULTS OF RIGHT TO SUBSCRIBE FOR ORDINARY SHARES IN 
               LONFIN IN TERMS OF SUBSCRIPTION WARRANTS 1996/2005

The fourth subscription date for holders of Subscription Warrants 1996/2005 was
Friday 23rd July 1999.

Such holders of Subscription Warrants had the right to subscribe for all or part
of the number of shares of 5p each in the capital of the Company indicated on
their Warrant at a price of 25 pence in the United Kingdom and R2.50 in the
Republic of South Africa per share.  Elections to exercise the Subscription
Warrants were received in respect of 3,766 shares.

Consequently 3,766 new shares of 5p each in the capital of the Company will be
allotted and issued on Friday 27th August 1999.  Such shares will rank pari
passu in all respects with the existing shares in issue.  It is anticipated that
the new shares will be listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange on Monday 30th
August 1999 and admitted to The Official List of the London Stock Exchange on
Tuesday 31st August 1999 (Monday 30th August 1999 being a public holiday in the
U.K)
