KBC Advanced Technologies plc ("the Company") announces that, following the
announcement on 7 October 2004 regarding Stephen Pettit's intention to step down
from the Board on or before the Annual General Meeting in 2005, Mr Pettit has
now informed the Company that he intends to resign as a non-executive director
effective 1 December 2004.

The Board would like to express their thanks to Stephen for his contribution
since joining the Board in 1999 and wish him well for the future.
