                                 ANNOUNCEMENT


            Legal Settlement relating to non-compete undertakings


KBC Advanced Technologies has agreed an out of court settlement with Honeywell
relating to a claim by KBC for alleged breach of non-competition undertakings
which had been given by Honeywell when KBC purchased the simulation models
business of Honeywell in December 1997.


There has been no admission of liability for any alleged breach by Honeywell.
KBC has also agreed to modify the future application of those undertakings.
KBC has, in connection with these arrangements, received $12.5 million (#
8.7million). With costs estimated at #1.55 million, this exceptional item is
expected to increase profit before tax for the first half of 2001 by # 7.15
million and profit after tax by #5.0 million.
