JLT Mobile Computers Delivers Uncompromising Flexibility with New Rugged Broadband Modem
April 16 2013 - 8:00AM
JLT Mobile Computers,
developers of reliable mobile computers for demanding environments,
has launched its jLink(TM) modem, a rugged mobile broadband modem.
Used together with the JLT dockable vehicle computer jFlex(TM), JLT
offers customers a computer solution that combines the reliability
of a fixed mounted computer with the flexibility of a handheld
computer. The jLink modem can also be used together with other
computers.
Frequently, customers in logistics and
transportation need a mobile computer that can be removed from the
vehicle in one easy step, thus increasing flexibility and lowering
installation and service costs. Previously, such a flexible
solution involved a compromise with regard to broadband connection
because the radio modem with its antennas was integrated in the
computer. By placing the radio modem in an external unit, this part
of the installation can be made permanent in the vehicle, utilizing
external antennas for optimum reception.
The jLink modem has been developed primarily for
use in combination with the jFlex computer for customers in outdoor
logistics, harbors and transportation, but the modem can also be
used with JLT1214S, JLT VERSO and other computers. The modem
supports GSM, GPRS, EDGE as well as UMTS, HSDPA, and HSUPA, and has
the ingress protection class IP65. It functions in temperatures
from minus 30 °C to plus 70 °C and is resistant to vibrations in
forklifts, trucks and other vehicles.
The jLink modem is available for delivery
today.
