Intandem announces new project, Dreams of a Dying Heart, starring Hilary Swank
Intandem Films Plc, the London based international film group, is pleased to
announce that it has secured a new project, 'Dreams of a Dying Heart', to which
Two time Oscar winner, Hilary Swank, is attached. Intandem will co-produce and
sell this movie with Killer Films, the New York based multiple award winning
producer ('Boys Don't Cry'), and Los Angeles based Laureate Films('Stepford
Wives').
The addition of this movie brings Intandem's slate up to 31 films under
management and further builds on an exciting start to the year.
'Dreams of a Dying Heart' is an incredible story which has HILARY SWANK (Million
Dollar Baby, P.S. I love You, Boys Don't Cry) attached to perform in the lead
role of Rachel Watson. The script is written by Shawn Lawrence Otto who also
wrote Oscar Nominated 'House Of Sand And Fog'. He will also direct.
Commenting on the film, Hilary Swank said: "When I first read the screenplay for
Dreams of a Dying Heart I was on an airplane and I couldn't put it down. By the
end I was weeping and I had to turn my head away toward the window. The same
thing happened to me with 'Million Dollar Baby'. Do you know how rare that is?
This is a special, special movie."
Shawn Lawrence Otto, Director and Scriptwriter, said: "We're going to use
mind-blowing visuals to tell a unique story of women and combat - which is a
perfect fit with Hilary's very special talent for toughness and vulnerability.
A lot of directors focus on the beauty in violence, but there is also an element
of violence in beauty. Dreams of a Dying Heart explores both."
Killer Films, producer of films such as 'Boys Don't Cry', 'One Hour Photo', 'The
Notorious Betty Page' and 'Far From Heaven', specialises and excels in working
with promising first-time director projects as well as established masters such
as Todd Haynes ('I'm Not There', 'Velvet Goldmine') and Robert Altman ('The
Company', 'The Player', 'Gosford Park', 'Short Cuts').
Andrew Brown, Executive Director of Intandem Films, commented:
"We are delighted to have secured Dreams of a Dying Heart, a fantastic, thought
provoking new film. This is a really exciting project to work on with Killer
Films and Laureate Films and to have attached two time Oscar winning Hilary
Swank to star further endorses the quality and confidence in Shawn Lawrence
Otto's directorial debut. We are looking forward to expanding our slate
throughout 2010 with more high quality commercial projects like Dreams of a
Dying Heart.
"The Directors of the Company will be in Cannes over the film festival period."
Christine Vachon, Killer Films, commented:
"Dreams of a Dying Heart is one of those rare movies like 'American Beauty',
'One Hour Photo', or 'Boys Don't Cry', that we feel has the potential for
critical acclaim and tremendous commercial success because of its artistic merit
driven by a powerful and compelling story."

About Dreams of a Dying Heart
Rachel Watson (Hilary Swank) returns home from her tour in the Reserves after
surviving a fatal chopper crash. Soon after her husband Dan and 16-year old
daughter Clara meet her at the airport, strange things begin to happen.
The ghost of a boy dressed in blue seems to be haunting her. She wakes up
screaming and covered in blood. Pictures of her are missing from the wall. Odd
voices are on the phone. A strange Arabic boy is in her house, seducing her
daughter, who is somehow in league with the unbalanced wife of a soldier Rachel
slept with on her tour of duty.
Soon Rachel begins to realise that reality is not at all as it seems, and
that she's in a fight for her very life - and that of her only daughter.
