Preliminary Approach

The board of FBD Holdings plc notes the weekend press speculation and confirms
that it has received a preliminary approach from Eureko B.V.. The preliminary
approach is unclear, appears to differentiate among shareholders and is highly
conditional.

No offer has been received and there can be no certainty that a formal offer
will be forthcoming or that any transaction will occur.

A holder of 1% or more of any relevant securities in the Company may from the
date of this announcement have disclosure obligations under Rule 8.3 of the
Irish Takeover Panel Act, 1997, Takeover Rules, 2007.
