                     Notification of Major Interest in Shares

Eleco plc, the Building Systems and Construction Software Group announces that
Allen & Company Incorporated has purchased 2,852,828 ordinary shares of 10
pence each in the company at a price of 30 pence per share, representing 5.81% 
of the issued share capital of Eleco plc.

Herbert Allen, President and Chief Executive Officer of Allen & Company 
Incorporated, accordingly now has an interest in a total holding of 4,552,828
shares in Eleco plc, representing 9.27% of the company's issued share capital.
