in accordance with revised UK accounting standards.

Charter European Trust PLC announces that at close of business on 15 January
2008:
     
1)   the capital net asset value per ordinary share was 254.13p and

2)   based on the number of shares held in treasury, the net asset value per
     ordinary share was 253.03p.
