                                Trading Update                                 

Following the successful completion of the acquisition of Shawley in March,
and, more recently R&D Design Systems Limited in April, Croma Group plc has
carried out a review of its order book for its respective operations as it
currently stands.

Consequently the Group is pleased to announce that currently the combined
operations of these recent acquisitions have a running order book valued at
approximately �1.4million, a significant proportion of which is expected to be
completed during the last quarter of the Group's financial year to June 2004.
Included in the product mix are Shawley Pan & Tilt monitoring systems and the
Pilar Anti Sniper detection system from Croma Defence Systems and the MIST
airborne surveillance and related products from R&D Design Services.

following these two successful acquisitions. The acquisitions, coupled with the
existing business of Croma's foundation subsidiary, Croma Defence Systems
Limited, has resulted in significant uplift in interest and sales. The order
level and level of enquiries and estimates being produced is running at the
highest level to date and bodes well for the future.

The recent move to AIM enabled the Group to clear all debt and have the
additional funds required to invest in working capital to accelerate sales and
marketing activities. The results of those efforts are already beginning to
show in a positive manner."

Notes to editors - Information on recent acquisitions

Shawley,

Shawley designs and manufactures a range of specialist monitoring systems using
CCTV and OCTV technology for public utilities, local authorities and military
bases. It is now operating effectively as a division of Croma's foundation
subsidiary, Croma Defence Systems Limited.

R&D Design Services Limited

R&D Design Services Limited designs and develops monitors for use in both overt
and covert surveillance operations installed in a range of helicopters, fixed
wing and surface vessels in use with Air Sea Rescue, Police Air Support Units,
Government Agencies and the Military. The monitors provide the facility for
targets to be viewed through mist, hazy conditions and fog, which would
otherwise be difficult or impossible to view using conventional systems. R&D
will continue to operate as a separate subsidiary within Croma Group plc.
