       OPTIMUS SELECTS CMG FOR LAUNCH OF MULTIMEDIA MESSAGING IN PORTUGAL


CMG plc, the ICT services and wireless data solutions group, today announced it
has signed a multimedia messaging contract with Optimus, one of Portugal's
leading mobile phone operators. Optimus selected CMG for the delivery and
implementation of CMG's total multimedia messaging solution, including CMG's
Multimedia Messaging Service Centre (MMSC), Wireless Service BrokerTM, Prepaid
mCharger and Business Tools.

CMG has been working with Optimus since 1998, when Optimus implemented CMG's
Short Message Service Centre (SMSC). Since then, Optimus has been very
successful and innovative in developing and launching short messaging services.

MMS enables the transmission of messages containing high-resolution colour
pictures, full stereo audio sound, drawings, animations and video-in any
combination, between mobile devices and from applications to these devices.
CMG's Wireless Service BrokerTM offers WAP functionality that enables secure,
managed, targeted services and makes them intuitive to employ and easy to
customise. The Prepaid mCharger offers the opportunity to harness the full
revenue potential of messaging, by offering and charging prepaid subscribers for
