Transaction in own shares

The Company announces that on 24 July 2007 it purchased 20,111 of its own
Ordinary shares of 10p each at a price of 121 pence per share. The shares were
re-purchased for holding in treasury.

Following repurchase the Company has 1,304,285 Ordinary shares held in
treasury. The number of shares in issue remains 89,724,381. The number of
shares in issue, less those held in treasury, is 88,420,096.
