Transaction in own shares

The Company announces that it yesterday purchased 70,000 of its own shares of
10p each at a price of �1.065 per share. The shares were re-purchased for
holding in treasury.

Following repurchase the Company has 261,674 Ordinary shares held in treasury.
The number of shares in issue remains 89,724,381. The number of shares in
issue, less those held in treasury, is 89,462,707.
