Vivendi Enters Exclusive Negotiations to Buy Prisma Media

Vivendi SA said Monday it has entered into exclusive
negotiations with Bertelsmann SE & Co. KGaA for the acquisition
of Prisma Media.
The French media giant said press publishing group Prisma Media,
a subsidiary of Gruner + Jahr--which is part of German media
conglomerate Bertelsmann--would complement the scope of Vivendi's
existing activities.
"According to applicable regulation, the contemplated
acquisition remains subject to the information and consultation
with the relevant employee representative bodies, and to the
finalization of legal documentation," Vivendi said.
