LONDON--Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC (RR.LN) has set up a joint venture with Hispano-Suiza (Safran) to develop accessory drive train transmission systems, the commercial jet engine maker said Friday.

Rolls-Royce said it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Hispano-Suiza, a company which specializes in aircraft power transmission and management systems, to establish a 50:50 long-term joint venture to address the entire product lifecycle of Rolls-Royce civil aero engine applications.

The joint venture will have activities in the U.K., Germany, and France, where it will be headquartered, Rolls-Royce said.
