--Daimler Chief Executive Ola Kallenius expects a trend reversal for the car maker's core Mercedes-Benz passenger cars unit in the second half and doesn't see a long-term downward trend in global auto markets, Wirtschaftswoche reports.

-- "We do not see the global automotive market in a prolonged downturn," the German business weekly quotes him as saying, adding that "it's true that global demand for passenger cars weakened in 2019. After the strong previous years and in view of the weaker economic growth momentum, however, this is not entirely surprising."
