The revolutionary Peel 520 could soon be a licensed Apple accessory, said GoSolarUSA (PinkSheets: GSLO) President and CEO Tyson Rohde.

After being contacted by representatives of Apple, Inc. (NASDAQ: AAPL), GSLO filed an application with Apple this week to participate in the MFi Program. Developers who participate in this licensing program receive technical specifications and hardware components from Apple and are eligible to emblazon products with MFi certification logos: “Made for iPod,” “Made for iPad,” and “Made for iPhone.” These logos signify that electronic accessories were designed to connect specifically to Apple products and have been certified by the developer to meet Apple standards.

“We intend to participate in the MFi licensing program in order to mitigate any future risk that our intellectual property overlaps with Apple’s,” Rohde said. “We are excited to work alongside Apple to bring the Peel 520 and other products to market in a manner that is consistent with Apple’s highest standards.”

GSLO’s Peel 520 accessory is a sleeve that slips over Apple’s iPod Touch media player and adds the ability to make voice calls and send text messages, mimicking the functionality of the more expensive iPhone. The Peel 520 interfaces electronically with the Touch through its 30-pin dock connector, turning the powerful media player into a cutting-edge smartphone.

iPod Touch users can sign up now to be among the first to purchase the Peel 520 when the device becomes available in the U.S. at GoSolarUSA’s Web site: http://www.gosolarusa.com/technology/peel520-reservation.html

GSLO is also working toward releasing the Peel 520 for tablet computers such as Apple’s iPad. Apple has sold more than 7.5 million iPads since its release in April, and that number is expected to climb sharply throughout the holiday shopping season.

“By developing the Peel 520 for the iPad and other devices such as the Amazon (NASDAQ: AMZN) Kindle and the Archos 7, we can provide these tablet users with the first must-have accessory for a new generation of computers,” Rohde said.

GoSolarUSA is dedicated to aggressively acquiring, developing and marketing promising and potentially profitable technology. The Peel 520 is a product of Yosion Technologies based in Shenzhen, China. The iPod Touch and the iPhone are products of Apple Inc., which competes in the global smartphone market against Google’s (NASDAQ: GOOG) Android devices and the Research in Motion BlackBerry line.
