Item 8.01 Other Events.
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has approved Torvec’s design for the infinitely variable transmission (IVT)to be installed in NASA’s second generation lunar rover. Torvec’s new design incorporates changes made necessary by NASA specifications for packaging, weight and torque output. The additional torque output was made necessary because of the increased gross vehicle weight of the lunar rover. The new design should enable the IVT to extend range and improve drivability.
Previously, in July, 2007, Torvec had furnished NASA with seven IsoTorque differentials and no design modifications to these units have been requested.
