CALGARY,
Dec. 20, 2012 /CNW/ - The Honourable
Nick Taylor, President of Softrock, in reporting on Softrock's
Annual meeting of Shareholders held in Calgary, Alberta November 30, 2012 expressed the regret of the
Board and shareholders attending that Arne
Nielsen was stepping down from the Board to better attend to
his health and family.
"Arne's foresight, business sense, and knowledge of sedimentary
geology was invaluable to the company " Taylor said "And we all
wish him good health in the years ahead."
In speaking to the progress of Softrock, Taylor said the company
is anxiously awaiting the results of two or more horizontal wells
to be drilled offsetting Softrock's 50% owned one section lease in
the Spirit River area of northwest
Alberta. "Acreage prices in the
area have taken off with prices reported to be in the range of
1 to 2 million dollars per section,"
Taylor commented.
"Softrock's 315,085 acres of potash rights in northern
Alberta, all chosen after two
years of geological, geophysical and geochemical studies, are being
circulated to companies who have indicated by their activities an
interest in potash." Taylor concluded
