CALGARY, Aug. 29, 2011 /CNW/ -- CALGARY, Aug. 29, 2011 /CNW/ - The Honourable Nick Taylor, CEO of Softrock Minerals Ltd, headquartered In Calgary Alberta Canada, announces that Softrock Minerals Ltd (SFT-TSX-V) has received final documentation from the Alberta Government allotting Softrock 100 percent interest for two years (subject to extension with further work) in 204,634 acres of potash, lithium and other Industrial and metallic minerals Permits. The acreage granted was reduced a little from the amount applied for (234,000 ac) by the government holding out some for wildlife preserves. Mr Taylor says the company is very happy with the parcels allotted, as all were picked as a result of detailed geochemical and sub-surface geological work by Softrock over the last two years, as some appear to contain some potash prospects ready to drill this Fall and/or winter after freeze-up. Mr Taylor went on to state that "Our studies indicate that these Permits lie in the same geological type and age basin that yield the next door Province of Saskatchewan's prolific and world renowned potash mines." To that end the company is now surveying the availability of rigs to start a core hole and at deep fluid analyses to determine possible potash reserves and whether they should be extracted by conventional mining or solvent drilling.
