Bombardier Consortium Wins Major Contract for Queensland New
Generation Rollingstock Project
BERLIN, GERMANY--(Marketwired - Jan 17, 2014) - Bombardier
Transportation, as part of a Consortium with John Laing, ITOCHU
Corporation and Uberior, has entered into a contract with a value
of approximately 4.4 billion AUD (3.0 billion euro, $4.1 billion
US) with the State of Queensland for the New Generation
Rollingstock Project. Bombardier's share of the contract is valued
at approximately 2.9 billion AUD (2.0 billion euro, $2.7 billion
US). Bombardier's scope for this project includes the supply of the
75 Electrical Multiple Units (EMUs), a new depot and maintenance
for 30 years. The depot design and construction will be
subcontracted to Laing O'Rourke.
