Suspension of Listing

The Quarterly High Income Trust PLC is at present dependent upon the support of
its consortium of banks. The banks today stated that they will not renew the
QHIT banking facility which expires on 3rd October 2003. Accordingly the
directors have resolved that they have no alternative but to invite the banks to
appoint a receiver and have requested the suspension of QHIT shares.
