SRA Awarded Two Contracts Valued at $51.2M to Support the Federal Aviation Administration

Company to Provide Engineering and Technical Services to the FAA

FAIRFAX, Va., Sept. 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SRA International,
Inc. (NYSE:SRX), a leading provider of information technology (IT)
services and solutions to federal government organizations,
announced that it has been awarded two contracts by the Federal
Aviation Administration (FAA). Under a single award indefinite
delivery, indefinite quantity contract, SRA will provide
engineering and technical services to support the FAA Airport
Technology Research and Development (R&D) branch at the FAA
William J. Hughes Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
The R&D organization is responsible for conducting research,
testing, and demonstrations related to airport runway safety,
airport planning and design, airport pavements, and lighting
technologies. SRA will deliver engineering, research, and
development services to help investigate the performance of airport
pavement to be used by new large civil aircraft through accelerated
testing and evaluation. Other areas of support will include the
design and demonstration of a broad range of airport research
products. The SRA team includes R.D. McQueen and Associates, Ltd.
The five-year contract has a maximum dollar value of $39.6 million.
The FAA also awarded SRA a contract to support the Technical
Center's Fire Safety Branch, responsible for conducting research,
testing, and standards development for all aspects of aircraft fire
safety. SRA will perform scientific and technical studies, develop
and manage databases and international workshops and conferences
related to aircraft fire safety, conduct laboratory tests on a
variety of aircraft fire scenarios, and research material
flammability to help improve aircraft cabin fire safety. This five-
year contract has an estimated value of $11.6 million if all
