O-I Treasurer to Retire

TOLEDO, Ohio, Sept. 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Owens-Illinois,
Inc., (NYSE:OI) today announced that Jeffrey A. Denker, O-I vice
president and treasurer, has elected to retire at the end of 2005
after more than 40 years of service. (Logo:

treasurer, Mr. Denker has responsibility for management of the
company's worldwide financial assets, domestic and international
financing, worldwide banking relations, and cash management. Mr.
Denker joined O-I in 1966 and served in a variety of assignments
before being named director of international finance in 1987. He
was elected an assistant treasurer of the company in 1988 and was
elected treasurer of the company by the O-I board of directors in
1998. "During Jeff's outstanding career, he played a significant
role in major refinancing activities as well as divestitures,
acquisitions and share offerings," said Ed White, O-I senior vice
president and chief financial officer. "He is highly regarded by
the financial community and O-I, alike." Currently, Mr. Denker
serves as a Board member of the University of Toledo Foundation and
the Investment Committee. He is also a member of the Toledo Mud
Hens Advisory Board. A native of Toledo, Ohio, Mr. Denker is a 1972
graduate of the University of Toledo, receiving a bachelor's degree
in business administration. In 1979, he received an MBA degree from
the university and also was a recipient of its Academic Excellence
