Network Equipment Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: NWK) today announced
the successful completion of Joint Interoperability Test Command
(JITC) Interoperability Certification for its VX 900 VoIP Gateway
with software release 4.3.5 version 55, for Tactical Network
Element (T-NE) and Strategic Network Element (S-NE).
The VX900 is currently used by the Army, Air Force, Marines,
Navy, JCSE, SOCOM and other Joint Commands.
In order to be certified by JITC, the VX 900 had to pass both
Interoperability (IO) Certification and Information Assurance (IA)
Accreditation. These certifications allow the product to be added
to the Defense Information Systems Agency's (DISA) Approved
Products List.
DISA's JITC certification is required for all voice networking
equipment connecting to the U.S. Department of Defense core
network. In December 2002 this requirement became law with the
signing of Public Law 107-314, PDF SEC 353 (S348/H354).
"NET's products are deployed in many government networks," said
Gary Lau, General Manager of NET's Federal Group. "Completion of
these certifications, and acceptance on DISA's Approved Products
List, assures our clients and government agencies that our
communication equipment will perform flawlessly in all their
mission critical applications. Obtaining the JITC certifications is
not only essential for deployments within the Defense Switched
Network, but also for other customers who require secure
communications solutions with proven reliability under extreme
conditions."
