(NYSE:IM), the world's largest distributor of technology products and supply chain services, announced today that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire certain assets of Computacenter Distribution (CCD), one of the leading wholesalers of servers, storage and related products in the United Kingdom. The transaction, which is subject to customary closing conditions, is expected to be completed in early November. Terms were not disclosed. Greg Spierkel, Ingram Micro's chief executive officer, said the acquisition of CCD advances the company's enterprise strategy and augments its capabilities in infrastructure solutions and data-center development. "We've been building an infrastructure solutions practice for two years and in multiple countries, primarily through a Greenfield approach," Spierkel said. "This acquisition demonstrates our commitment to developing this capability in Europe.
