PR Newswire (US)
New sales and marketing program enables SMB solutions providers to
establish a successful Oracle practice without authorizations or
specific program fees SANTA ANA, Calif., June 27
/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE:IM), today
announced it is expanding its distribution relationship with Oracle
to include the software giant's new Oracle VAD Remarketer Program,
which enables resellers to sell Oracle's growing lineup of Oracle
SMB (small and mid-size business) Technology Products without the
requirement of joining the Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN). Available
exclusively in North America, Ingram Micro's new Oracle VAD
Remarketer Program is designed to attract and establish a new
community of SMB-focused resellers who want to sell Oracle's SMB
Technology Products and establish an Oracle practice prior to
investing in the OPN program. As part of the new sales and
marketing program, solution providers will gain access to a number
of valuable business development and SMB-focused sales tools, as
well as Oracle-specific technical support, marketing, recruiting
and training programs. According to Jodi Honore, vice president,
vendor management for Ingram Micro, the new program makes it easier
and more cost-effective for solution providers to incorporate
Oracle into their existing IT portfolio and will ultimately bring
forward new business opportunities for the partners involved. "Over
the last year Ingram Micro and Oracle have worked together to
recruit, retain and grow the business of more than two hundred
Oracle solution providers across the U.S. and Canada," continues
Honore. "By integrating Oracle's Remarketer Program into our
existing Oracle business, we're looking to accelerate recruitment
efforts, eliminate the barriers to entry and enable more solution
provider partners to successfully sell Oracle's growing lineup of
SMB Technology Products." "The VAD Remarketer Program allows our
strategic distributors to broaden the scope of resellers who can
help reach smaller companies that haven't previously been served by
Oracle. This is a strategic partner initiative within Oracle's
overall go-to-market channel strategy and we expect it to help us
dramatically increase the number of VARs selling our products in
this space," said Judson Althoff, vice president of Global Platform
and Distribution Sales at Oracle. The Ingram Micro Oracle
Remarketer Program is available now to solution providers in the
U.S. and Canada. There are no fees or authorizations associated
with the Oracle Remarketer Program. Manufacturer products offered
as part of the Ingram Micro Oracle Remarketer Program include
Oracle(R) Database 10g Standard Edition and Standard Edition One;
Oracle Application Server 10g Standard Edition and Standard Edition
One; and Oracle Business Intelligence Standard Edition and Standard
Edition One. Solution providers interested in learning more about
