Ingram Micro Appoints Karen Salem as Chief Information Officer
SANTA ANA, Calif., Feb. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ingram Micro
(NYSE:IM), the world's largest technology distributor, today named
Karen Salem as the company's senior vice president and chief
information officer, effective February 21, 2005. In her new role,
Salem will be responsible for ensuring the company's business
systems create an effective platform for profitable growth. She
will lead a worldwide information technology organization that
supports operations in 39 countries generating hundreds of
thousands of transactions per day. Reporting to Kent Foster,
chairman and chief executive officer, Salem will become a member of
the worldwide executive team and officer of the corporation. "We

organization." Salem has nearly 20 years of experience advising
corporations on technology systems and business solutions. She was
most recently senior vice president and chief information officer
at Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc. in Jacksonville, Florida, where she
leads an IT organization of approximately 500 people supporting
more than 1,000 stores throughout the United States. At Winn-Dixie,
she led a corporate-wide governance process to prioritize and
manage projects, and developed a more efficient technology
infrastructure that reduced expenses while enhancing service and
productivity. Before joining Winn-Dixie, she was the chief
information officer at Corning Cable Systems, a fiber-optic cable
and equipment manufacturer in 20 countries, and at AFC Enterprises
in Atlanta, which owns several quick-service restaurant brands.
Salem earned a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from
Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from the University of
Cincinnati. She plans to relocate from the Jacksonville area to
