To capitalize on growing market demand for investment consulting services, Hewitt Associates, a global human resources consulting and outsourcing services company, announced today that it has expanded its U.S. Investment Consulting practice with the addition of six new consultants who bring a wealth of industry expertise.

Claire Shaughnessy has joined Hewitt as a senior investment consultant, where she is responsible for advising clients on investment issues as they relate to pension funds, savings plans and endowment and foundation funds. Before joining Hewitt, she spent 10 years at Rogerscasey in a number of senior positions. Most recently, she served as a managing director responsible for providing a full range of investment consulting services to her clients.

Experienced investment actuaries, Alan Parikh and Eric Friedman have joined Hewitt as senior pension risk consultants. They are responsible for helping companies optimize their investment policies, contribution policies and plan designs. They also advise Hewitt’s clients on implementing and monitoring investment strategies. Prior to joining Hewitt, Alan and Eric were both principals in Mercer's Investment Consulting practice.

Other additions to Hewitt’s U.S. Investment Consulting team include Carol Chan and David Barnes as Manager Research Consultants, and Nicole Kang as a Research Analyst. All three are responsible for meeting with portfolio management organizations to assess their skills and capabilities as well as the appropriateness of their investment strategies for client portfolios.

Carol Chan joins Hewitt from Dun and Bradstreet Corporation, a leading provider of global business information, tools and commercial insight. At Dun and Bradstreet, she was responsible for managing the investments of the company’s global pension and 401(k) plans.

David Barnes re-joins Hewitt’s Investment Consulting practice from Watson Wyatt Investment Consulting, where he was a senior member of the global equity, non-U.S. equity, emerging markets equity and transition management research teams. David has 10 years of industry experience, including six years of prior employment in Hewitt’s Investment Consulting practice.

Nicole Kang previously worked at Citigroup, where she performed due diligence on equity managers to create customized portfolios for high net worth and institutional clients.

“As pension investing becomes increasingly complex, companies are looking for ways to better manage their pension plan investment portfolios and achieve improved asset returns,” said Bradley Smith, head of Hewitt’s U.S. Investment Consulting business. “Hewitt has a long-standing reputation as a trusted and independent pension investment advisor. These six additions bring deep investment and risk management expertise that will complement the skill sets of our current investment team and enable us to address the strong and growing demand we’re seeing in the market for our services.”
