The latest edition to the Tektronix line of video quality
monitors, the high-density Sentry Edge II is a high-quality and
cost-effective video and audio monitoring solution that video
service providers (VSP) can easily deploy in sufficient numbers to
comprehensively monitor the edge of their networks. Sentry
Edge II detects RF modulation errors (including MER, BER, signal
level, RF lock and EVM) and provides a constellation diagram for
diagnostics, in addition to errors deep in MPEG transport streams.
Flexibly configured with four or eight tuners, Sentry Edge II
supports QAM A/B/C and comprehensive RF measurements at a
competitive price. The Sentry family is proven in deployments with
the top U.S. cable operators which use Sentry to quickly and
accurately diagnose video and audio errors to ensure the best
quality of experience (QoE) for viewers.
"Winning a Cable Spotlight Product of the Year award for the
second year running shows that the industry recognizes the
exceptional capabilities of our Sentry line of QoE monitors and
highlights our dedication to bringing continued innovation to the
cable industry," said Eben Jenkins,
general manager of the Video Product Line at Tektronix. "Adding the
MTS4000 to the roster of award recipients from the Cable Spotlight
Product of the Year awards is further validation of Tektronix'
well-rounded approach to providing the top solutions to ensuring
video quality in an evolving industry. We are
continually adding new features, functions and capabilities to
ensure our video product lines address the most urgent
requirements, from improving the early detection and diagnosis of
video and audio issues to regulatory compliance."
The MTS4000 is a part of the Tektronix MPEG Analyzer family and
is deployed in cable headends and hubs to analyze and trouble shoot
audio/video and transport problems in 10G networks for fault
isolation and root cause analysis. The MTS4000 offers unparalleled
"deep dive" analysis capabilities for examining the video and audio
quality of IP and RF video streams in addition to content
processing. Targeting a range of field diagnostics and
troubleshooting applications, the MTS4000 examines the video and
audio quality of IP and RF video streams in addition to content
processing anywhere in the network environment.
"It is my pleasure to recognize Tektronix with two Cable
Spotlight Product of the Year Awards for its contribution to the
advancement of cable technology solutions," said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC. "I look forward to
